I’ve been totes negligent in keeping everypony posted on What I’ve Been Eating While I’m in Canada. Mostly because I’ve been super-busy working and stuff. So sue me, sheesh!

Here’s a quik-e recap of some recent eats:

  • I had some delicious Thai eats the other night (not pictured due to poor lighting). Remember that one time when I said that “Thai spicy” in Canada is different from “Thai spicy” in Amercia? My theory was validated at a nice (but poorly lit) Thai joint near my hotel. Even though I ate there, like, three days ago, I feel like I’m still paying for it, if you know what I’m sayin’.
  • Last night, I had some cheap Thai eats at a greasy-spoon Vietnamese joint. It was pretty good!
  • For lunch today, I had chirashi sushi at a Japanese joint near my office. The eats were yum, but the place was filled with Canadian douchebags who wouldn’t STFU. A group of jerks sitting at the table next to me spent the entire time bashing Amercia. Here’s the thing: Amercia has it’s problems, obvs, but ain’t nopony gonna talk smack about us, yo! At least we know what spicy means!
  • For dinner tonight, I had japchae at a Korean joint. The waitress asked me a question in Korean, and I was all, I’m sorry, I don’t know what you’re saying. And she was all, “Are you Korean?” And I was all, I’m not, but apparently I look just like Kim Jung-un, so I guess I’m an honorary Korean? She didn’t think that was very funny. Still, the eats were super-yum!

While busy daddy was at yoga, we met lazy uncle in the city for some yum Korean eats for lunch. We might have gone a little overboard and ordered way too much food. We accidentally didn’t pay attention to how much food we actually ordered because we were all complaining about how the fabric of our clothing was touching our skin and fantasizing about making traps and stuff.

After a surprisingly invigorating workout at the gym with Fake Chris this morning, the Busy-Lazy gang went to our favorite Korean diner for some yum eats. The boy asked me to save for him the soft-cooked egg from my spicy miso soondubo. So I did.

It’s been awhile since we’ve had yummy Korean eats, so we decided to hit up our favorite Korean joint for a quik-e lunch. I took advantage of the fact that I barely have any sense of smell or taste (because of my sinus infection) by ordering a bowl of super-extra-spicy miso soondubo

We’ve been taking the boy to this Korean restaurant since he was a wee baby, and by his own admission, it’s his favorite restaurant, ever. I can always count on him to finish everything on his plate when we eat there—from the kim chee to the seafood pajun to the kalbi.

With the soondubo, I’ll crack a raw egg into the piping-hot tofu stew and let it cook in the stone bowl. It’s the boy’s favorite part of the meal. I told him that today’s tofu stew was especially spicy, but he said he’d have it anyway. He had a bite and said, “Dad, this isn’t even spicy at all!” And I said, I think you don’t know what the word spicy means. And the boy said, “Well, it still tastes delicious!” The boy was right.

After busy daddy’s yoga class, we went to our favorite Korean restaurant for lunch. Since we invariably order the same thing whenever we have Korean eats, I won’t bore you with pictures of our lunch. Suffice to say, everything was super-yum today.

The boy insisted on wearing his earbuds during lunch, despite the fact that he wasn’t listening to anything. Also, he insisted on having his LEGO minfigs on the table during lunch. My attitude was pretty much like Whatevs, but the boy’s behavior was driving busy daddy to apoplexy. Oh well. At least lunch was delicious.
