For shizz and giggz, the Busy-Lazy boys have been checking out open houses in our neighborhood. We’re not looking to move, but it’s fun to see what houses are going for these days in our neck of the woods. While we’ve spied some nice places (and a few duds), the really nice ones are way overpriced, while the awight ones are just awight … and still sorta overpriced.
This afternoon we looked at a pretty nice house near the middle school. Pro: It’s a bit closer to town and the train station. Con: It’s really not all that much bigger than our current house. Pro: The backyard is lovely! Con: The backyard butts up against the train tracks. Pro or con, depending on your POV: The house is gonna be featured on some HGTV show in the fall.
I guess the main thing we’ve learned as we’ve been spying on how the other half lives is that we really lucked out when we bought our house. I mean, there’s plenty of work we still need to do on our shack, but it’s pretty darned good as it is.
