Thanks everypony for your kind words. Busy daddy and I really appreciate all of your love and support. We’ll get through this, I know we will.

We made it back home in time for lunch. It’s weird because even though we were only about an hour away, it felt like we were in an all-together different world. I’m having some culture shock getting back into the swing of regular life. But there’s the boy and the lazy pups to attend to, so life goes on.

We decided to get some Vietnamese eats for a quik-e lunch. I really don’t have much of an appetite today, but it was nice to spend time with my family again, especially after being away from the boy for the past week or so.

The boy said he was sad but not mad that the birthparents changed their minds. He said, “We just need to wait for my brother or sister’s birthmother to pick us again, right?” I said, Yup. And the boy said, “I hope my brother or sister—who I hope is a girl—comes home before the end of this year.” I said, We’ll see. Then the boy said, “Actually, I hope it’s before the end of this month!” I said, There are no guarantees. And the boy said, “Don’t worry dad, my sister is coming home soon.”

I don’t know how or why my kid got to be so smart, but I credit his birthparents, who are clearly extraordinary. Have I mentioned lately how much I love my son’s birthparents? Because I do.
