Lazy Dad's Guide to Everything

I don’t know if it’s a byproduct of getting older or since I’ve become a dad, but my tolerance for people who are mean just for the sake of being mean is pretty much nil these days. Fortunately, I’ve eliminated virtually all of the mean jerks in my personal life, and (by and large) I have surrounded myself with (mostly) nice people at work.

The only place where I continue to see random acts of meanness is—strangely—on Tumblr. I’ve taken a brutal, take-no-prisoners, accept-no-excuses approach to solving this problem. If you are mean, if you think “speaking your mind” justifies being an unabashed asshole, if you are a judgmental prick (without reason), if you don’t know when to STFU, if you lack the self-awareness to understand why I think you are mean, if we wouldn’t be friends in real life, then I won’t and don’t need to be your friend in virtual life. And your ass will be blocked.

The rules of engagement here are really simple: Be nice or go away. ‘Nuff said.
