Somehow we were able to get our act together and make it out to a pre-bar-mitzvah-Friday-night-service family dinner. We went to a Hong Kong-style Chinese joint that was situated on the edge of a body of water, but I don’t know what body of water it was. The views were lovely and the eats were yum.
I’m not sure if I should be weirded out or happy that as soon as each dish arrived, almost every single member of my family took out his or her camera and snapped a pic of the dish. Also, there were plenty of pictures of people taking pictures of people taking pictures of their food.
It was all either terribly endearing or completely mortifying. Hard to tell sometimes.
