Most importantly, the past few days have served as a stark reminder of how lucky busy daddy and I are to have the privilege of being parents to such a wonderful kid. Chance and circumstance are funny things. You realize that had the stars aligned differently, the boy could have ended up living a different life with different parents (perhaps even with his birthparents) instead of being with me and busy daddy.
But I am a believer in fate, even if it’s naive to believe in fate. I am thankful and grateful each and every day that the stars were aligned properly on the day that we were matched to be a family. Honestly, it’s hard to imagine being a dad to a different kid, or the boy having parents who weren’t me and busy daddy.
How could this kid be anyone else’s son but ours?
