April is, indeed, the cruelest month at the Busy-Lazy Shack. That’s because, despite our love of Springtime, Springtime doesn’t love us back. The boy and I have the same terrible, chronic allergies, and the warm Winter has resulted in a brutal allergy season. So far, it hasn’t hit me so bad this year, but the boy is a mess. In fact, his teacher e-mailed me and busy daddy to tell us that the boy’s allergies are so bad that he can’t focus on his school work.
Short of keeping the boy in an environmentally controlled bubble—which I would totally do—until the pollen count subsides, our pediatrician says there’s really nothing we can do at this point. So we’re left with our morning and nighttime ritual for the boy that involves a dose of allergy meds, eye drops, and nasal spray. Hopefully we’ll get some rains soon that will wash away all of the crap that’s in the air! Stupid, stinkin’ nature.
